Dr Gareth Jones
BDS
Gareth graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2003 with the HR Williams prize for oral surgery. He has spent his dental career working in general practice where he has developed a special interest in Implantology. He spends most of his work time at Monmouth Dental Practice where he became principal dentist in 2011 but also visits practices in Cheltenham and Hereford. The Implantology side of his work ranges from single teeth, to full arch restoration with sinus augmentation and vertical and horizontal bone grafting. He receives referrals for complex implant work from across the region.
Gareth has invested a lot of time in furthering his implant knowledge, attending courses in South Africa, Italy and Hungary. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Bone and Soft Tissue Regeneration and Sinus Grafting, and an Advanced Certificate in Full Mouth Oral Implant Rehabilitation. He has also completed the Regenerator Program: Advanced Surgical Master Curriculum in Regenerative Implant Dentistry, University of Szeged, Hungary, under the tutelage of Professor Istvan Urban.
Dr Aly Virani
BDS (Hons), Dip.MJDF(RCS Eng), AssocFCGDent, Dip Imp Dent RCSEd, MSc (Clinical Oral Implantology)
Aly Virani is a graduate of Cardiff University. He holds a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has been awarded his Master of Science degree in Clinical Oral Implantology by Ulster University. His practice of dentistry is focused solely on the placement and restoration of dental implants. He is proud to have been invited to be an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry (UK).
From 2013-2019 Aly also worked as a Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Bristol Dental Hospital, University of Bristol. He was also involved with undergraduate teaching & training of Periodontology and has assisted with practical instruction on the Masters Programme in Implantology.
Aly has previously been an ambassador for the Young ITI (International Team for Implantology) and held a position on the board of directors of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI), where he was the Welsh Representative from 2015-2017 and again in 2021 and 2023.
Aly has a special interest in full arch immediate loading (also known as “All-on-X,” full-mouth implant treatment, or “teeth in a day”) and complex digital workflows. This expertise has led him to become a Key Opinion Leader for leading international innovators in implant dentistry, including Southern Implants, Shining 3D, ClaronavDental, W&H, and Osstell. He frequently lectures at national and international conferences and mentors fellow clinicians across the UK. He is the clinical director of Transformative Education in Dentistry (TED) which provides intermediate implant education to dentists that are already comfortable planning, placing and restoring simple implants.
